Emmanuel’s mens track and field team recorded many personal bests this past Saturday at Tufts University.
Sophomore Nathan Bruno (Lenox, Mass.), led the field for the men’s side in the 600 meter run, lowering his qualifying time for ECAC’s, as well as improving on his Emmanuel record in the event with a time of 1:22.73.
Junior Chris Baker (Holden, Mass.), also ran an outstanding race in the men’s open 800 meter run, placing 10th out of a field of 41 runners with a time of 2:00.04. Freshman Thomas Tallo (Lincoln, R.I.), and sophomore Patrick Callan (Pawling, N.Y.) also improved on their times in the event, running 2:05.25 and 2:05.94, respectively.
Sophomore Ryan Thomas (Wakefield, R.I.), held his own in the 400 meter run placing 6th out of 42 runners with a time of 51.37, qualifying him for Division III New England’s.
The men’s 4×800 meter relay team also improved on their Division III New England qualifying time. The team consisting of Abdi Ibrahim (East Boston, Mass), Callan, Tallo, and Baker ran a time of 8:09.74, placing 6th out of a field of 13 teams.
The Emmanuel men will be back in action on Saturday, February 9th at the MIT Co-Ed Invitational, which will be held in Cambridge, Mass.
