Tosser Magazine Launch Party

Most girls would think in a pair of striped pants she would never encounter a “bitch stole my look” moment. I guess no one is safe, when placed in a room of fashion buffs.

That was my situation at the Tosser Magazine Launch Party, The Boston Bazaar’s newest publication, held at GEM Lounge on the January 29.

The venue was packed.  It even hit capacity at one point, which I thought was impressive for a Tuesday night.

As I sipped on my custom cocktail — named after the magazine — I mingled with guests and played spot-the-straight-guy with my friend.

The first issue of Tosser Magazine titled “The Futures of” features 50 people to put on your radar. The list includes Anya Ayoung-Chee, winner of Project Runway, Karmaloop CEO and Founder Greg Selkoe and Dance Party Massacre Founder Alex Dakoulas.

In fact, I recognized a few of these faces as I roamed the party.

I managed to grab Asha Isabella, Emmanuel College alumna and Editor-in-Chief of Tosser, after her opening speech to ask about the premier issue.

Asha joked that her short-term goals for the magazine include making sure the website is working but explained that her true vision for Tosser is, “To be the voice of a community fueled by the arts and focus on up-and-comers in fashion, music and maybe literature to represent all different types of art.”

By the end of the night I had met a lot of interesting individuals and even joked with the other girls wearing striped pants.
