Addicted to Kittens?

Kittens have taken over the Internet.

But your addiction to searching precious pictures and adorable videos may not be such a waste of time after all.

recent study from Japan found that cute images of kittens and puppies improved cognitive performance on tasks that required focused attention.

Licensed psychologist and author of Psychology Today’s online magazine, Guy Winch, Ph.D. writes:

“Viewing cute images elicits a perceptual, cognitive and a physical tenderness…[that] could be useful in everyday tasks that require both perceptual and behavioral attention to detail…”

So the next time you find yourself studying for a biology exam or writing another twelve page paper, give yourself a minute to enjoy these loveable fur balls and reap the benefits of their cuteness.
