6 Ways to Dress Up During Winter

Winter clothing for women is supposed to be comfortable and warm, especially if you have put on some weight during the season and you want to hide it as best as you can. Here are 5 tips on how to stay cozy and stylish in the cold weather:

These are a necessary accessory when you do not feel like wearing jeans. Leggings and tights are flexible and comfy while the nylon material makes the body look slim and flattering. They also come in different colors and patterns, so all one has to do is accessorize it with either a long flowing top or a sweater dress.

Black Boots

You can never go wrong with pair of solid black boots. They match everything, they  look awesome with leggings and they can also be used to go out at night. DO NOT mix black boots with black jeans, they do not match and they do not look good. Whether the boots have a heel or no heel, it does not make a difference; one is just more sophisticated than the other.

Sweater Dress

Sweater dresses are always classy style for every occasion. Make sure to wear solid colored tights under them or vice versa. If the dress is too long or unflattering to your body, you could add a belt to it, typically one whose color contrasts with the color of the dress.

Winter hats are essential to keep your ears warm. Beanies are the most popular style, as they look hip and typically look better with one’s hair down. Single color beanies are the better choice, as you do not want to draw too much attention to the hat instead of your fabulous outfit.

Winter Coat

Your winter coat is what everyone will see first. You better make a good impression! If you want a safe choice, go with black or light brown. However, if you want to be modern and stylish, go for a bright red, royal blue or navy. Make sure that whatever you wear matches the rest of your outfit; you don’t want to go crazy.

This accessory is what will stand out the most. You can go crazy with the colors (as long as they match your winter coat.) HOWEVER, do not wear a scarf if you are already wearing a beanie. It looks like you’re trying too hard. If you’re going to pick a black jacket, it would be trendier to pick a scarf with a pattern or design to give your outfit a little sparkle.
