Little Money, Big Problems: The Second Time Around Process

Have you been to Second Time Around (STA) on Newbury Street?

The Blizzard aftermath is making getting there difficult, but it’s on my to do list.

I figured since I haven’t been able to go I’d do some research and explain how Second Time Around (my next consignment stop) works according to the info on the store’s website.

Second Time Around (STA) is a chain of upscale consignment stores that carries high-end and lightly-used clothes, according to the website and has 3 locations on Newbury Street in Boston.

STA has a seemingly better and more professional process for people who are looking to consign as selling your clothes in the store begins with an appointment. Then, rather than lugging around a giant bag full of unwanted garments, STA asks for just a few pieces to start an account.

As for the pricing the website says, “items are generally priced at 30%-40% of their original retail value, depending on condition and style” and you can earn up to 50% of the in store sale price.

Compared to the Buffalo Exchange so far I think that’s a much better bet!
