5 Big Fashion No-No’s When Partying.

College parties can be a rite of passage. Unfortunately, some ladies think that “partying” means “how close to naked can I be in public.” They seem to think it’s “sexy.” Well, its not. Its trashy and it’s worse when these girls have had too much to drink.

1.    Shirts unbuttoned too low

This is my biggest pet peeve. And I don’t mean showing some cleavage, I mean the first button done is somewhere in the realm of your bellybutton. Girls, why would you do it? Not everyone needs to know what the actual Victoria’s “secret” is. At least leave something for the imagination… spare yourself those lusting looks from unsuitable creeps, and don’t waste your money on something that you won’t wear properly.

2.    Skimpy dresses/skirts

There is a difference between looking cute in a mini skirt/dress and looking sloppy in it. If your goal is to be dancing all night, then by all means, wear a dress that won’t show your whole… business the second you bend over or fall down. Please, take caution!

3.    Too much bronzer

I can’t stress this enough. The purpose of bronzer is for you to look sun kissed, not like you covered your face with Doritos’ cheese. Most girls look at themselves in the mirror and think, “oh my god, I look horrible. I NEED more make-up,” and there they go, applying more bronzer, more eyeliner (making you look like a raccoon),  more lipstick (over the already-smudged one) and more eye shadow. Please. Stop. Try to highlight the features you already like, not re-work your entire face!

4. Bare Feet on the Street

Ladies, if you can’t handle those heels, don’t wear them. Solution: bring flats in your purse. Roaming around barefoot in a basement party is disgusting. Walking barefoot in the streets can also be dangerous causing fungus or bacteria. You and your shoes should have a mini-marriage and it should be, “till home do us part”.

5.  Sweaty hair on the loose

Your hair will get sticky and nasty because of the overcrowding. It will get frizzy with sweat and it will start smelling like crap. The solution is to grab all that frizzy/smelly/sweaty hair and put it in a bun, which will make you look clean and collected.

this just screamed internalized misogyny. telling women what is “trashy” when it comes to what they wear is just oppressive no matter how you try to cut it.

  5. Saddened (that an EC student keeps writing these types of articles)

This author needs her friends to host an intervention- addicted to putting others down much? Please educate yourself, take a gender studies course, talk to people about themselves without judging them, accept that you only know what’s best for yourself. There is no substance to these articles, no perspective, no critical thinking, just bumptious blather. Perhaps we should all spend a little more time thinking about how we, ourselves, can be better people. This author needs to reflect.
