With a shortened NHL season, teams knew that March and April would be packed with games back-to-back. It is important for players to stay healthy and avoid injury. Unfortunately, some Bruins players haven’t been able to do so.
Center Chris Kelly is out indefinitely with a broken left tibia he suffered during a game against the Ottawa Senators.
“It’s our first major injury of the year right now and we’re fortunate to be in that position, I know other teams are like Florida they have about six, seven guys that are out of the line-up,” said left wing Daniel Paille.
Recently center David Krejci was hit in the leg from a shot made by fellow teammate Johnny Boychuk. He didn’t break any bones, however he is on a “day-to-day” basis and did receive treatment after leaving the third period.
The Bruins are lucky to have avoided injuries this far into the season. With such a short season, its important for all players to stay rested and keep focus on the end goal, winning another Stanley Cup championship.
