The Career Center, formerly know as the office of Internship and Career Development, has undergone a makeover not just in its name, but also in location. Far from the intimidating halls of the Administration building, the inviting aura of the JYC brings a new life to this informative group of ladies.
In this new space, new opportunities are found. Having trouble writing your resume or the new and improved HireSaints? The Career Center has a bank of computers where you can work out all your technological challenges. You can also find help with lots of other internship and work-related challenges, including mock interviews, self-assessment testing, and a pre-internship course offered every semester. Many EC students are looking for grad school options and the ladies at the Career Center can help reach that goal.
They have some helpful hints for EC students as well. They suggest starting to think about using the Career Center early. This way, they said, you can familiarize yourself with the process and reduce the stress and scariness of looking for an internship, applying for jobs, and finding the perfect grad-school. But don’t worry about getting it all figured out at once. The Career Center has perfected the four-year plan that blends your academic goals with your career plan. With this tool, you can track your progress and know exactly what you need to do and when you need to do it.
Finally, because the Internet is where most of us live, the Career Center has branched out to the World Wide Web. You can find them on Facebook, Twitter, and even Pinterest.
