Despite temperatures that indicate otherwise, another summer has come to an end. In its place, we find ourselves migrating back to campus with new schedules, new textbooks, and new school policies. The class of 2014 has since departed and left another class to rise to senior rank, making room for a new crop of first years to edge their way into the Emmanuel community.
With the new school year, however, come echoes of the last. The ever-debated tobacco policy has officially been implemented, banning all tobacco products from campus. OSAMP also announced via Instagram today that wearing IDs on campus is now a requirement. And of course, no one has completely forgotten the outcry in the spring over a few impending departures from our beloved faculty.
With all of these changes to campus life, we find it particularly important to iterate the pride with which we, the editors of The Hub, hold our positions. We believe, first and foremost, in transparency and factually-based discussion within the Emmanuel College community. We work hard to ensure that all events we report on and all information we provide is as accurate and as timely as possible. To that end, we rely heavily on the Emmanuel community as a whole. It is with your participation – in interviews, the comments below articles, and in social media – that we succeed at our job. We thank you for this.
With this mindset, and with these goals, we look forward to another year of delivering you what you need to ensure that you stay informed and that your questions are consistently answered. As always, we hope that everyone feels comfortable approaching any member of the Editorial Board, or to reach out to us at our e-mail (email@example.com).
We wholeheartedly wish everyone a healthy and productive new semester.
