Breaking News: Mugging at Clemente Field

UPDATE: Earlier today, Simmons College sent an email to its students about last night’s robbery with more detail.

According to the Simmons email, the Emmanuel students were robbed while “sitting in a part of Clemente Field.” The assailants approached the students from behind and were told to empty their pockets and get on the ground.

The email also revealed that a fifth student was robbed at gunpoint by the same suspects. Walter T. Carlson, Lieutenant, Shift Commander at Emmanuel confirmed that this student was from MassArt

BREAKING – At 12:30 this morning, four Emmanuel students were robbed at gunpoint while at the Roberto Clemente Field. The four assailants were believed to be armed with a handgun and three tasers. The students are uninjured, but their iPhones and wallets were taken.

Campus safety was notified upon the student’s return to campus and the Boston Police are now searching for suspects in the area.

For more information and safety tips, see Emmanuel’s portal announcement and email.
