BREAKING: Mugging In Roxbury

BREAKING (1:13pm): At approximately 9:30pm last night, Paul Rowley ’16 was mugged in Mission Hill. According to the portal announcement posted by Campus Safety, the assailant demanded the Rowley’s valuables and wallet, threatening him with an unseen gun.

Rowley gave the mugger $20 and the suspect fled toward Ruggles St. Rowley was not harmed.

“He asked, ‘Do you want me to turn this into a shooting right now?'” said Rowley. “Then he said, ‘we’re going to ATM right now’ so I could withdraw more cash for him, and I said no we are not? No.”

According to the community alert, the suspect was described as “an African American male in his 20’s, approximately 5′ 6″, 140 lbs. with a goatee, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt & sweatpants with sneakers.”

The community alert contains a typo, the mugging occurred on Judge St., not Jude St.

“It was Judge street, a private way I was cutting through, said Rowley. “Then he came up behind me and pulled me back from the strap on my backpack”
