Students and Faculty Attend Annual Thanksgiving Interfaith Ceremony to Give Thanks, Reflect

WP_20141120_013 (2)

On Thursday, dozens of Emmanuel students and faculty attended an Interfaith Thanksgiving Prayer Service sponsored by Campus Ministry to universally express gratitude in a season often marred by excessive consumption.

Father John Spencer delivered a brief and warm welcome, ushered in by the college Chapel Choir. A hearty sampling of prayer was read by members of the college community, including from Buddhist, Muslim, Native American and Jewish texts.

Keenan Flowers, Music Specialist and Director of the Mission Grammar School’s 4th grade Choir, helped conduct his students who sang “Lord, I Life Your Name on High” to boisterous applause. Sister Janet Eisner helped conclude the service with a sharing of blessed bread among the parishioners, graciously provided by Bon Appetite.
