Earlier today, an email was sent out from John Byrne, Associate Director of Residence Life and Housing, announcing the long-held position of Director of Finance position by senior Sara Massery will be open next semester.

Massery is leaving the position to graduate early, something she has known she would do since her sophomore year. Last week, the SGA received Massery’s official resignation. Her resignation will go into effect on December 10th, the day after the last SGA meeting of the semester.

As a result of Massery’s departure, the SGA is seeking out a new Director of Finance. The link to the election packets can be found in the email sent out by John Byrne. These packets are due by this Friday, December 5 by 2:30pm in the SGA mailbox.

Amy Chung, SGA President, says that interviews for the position will be held Monday December 8th. Massery will sit on the interview board as well as the rest of the Executive Board. The decision will be made that night so the new Director of Finance can attend the SGA meeting the following day and be welcomed into the throng.

Chung says the SGA is looking for someone who is “really committed to the student body and the club executive boards and really wants to make sure the budgetary/financial procedures are as easy as possible for all parties involved”.

Massery says she feels strange leaving the SGA and Emmanuel as well. She is grateful for her time on the Executive Board, and hopes the new Director of Finance is as dedicated as she was for the past three years.
