Female Berklee Student Sexually Assaulted Near Park Drive


At approximately 11pm on March 3, a female Berklee student was struck from behind and sexually assaulted by a male attacker. According to a community alert issued by Emmanuel Security, the assault occurred near Park Drive in the Back Bay Fens Area. The survivor stated that she was walking alone when the attack occurred.

The community alert was posted via the Portal at 4:30pm March 5 after learning of the assault.

There is currently an ongoing investigation on the assault. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call the Boston Police at 617 343-4250 or the 24/7 Berklee Public Safety office at 617-747-2682.

Campus Safety also included the following tips to “enhance safety at night”.

  • Never walk alone, especially during the hours of darkness
  • Use busy, well-lit routes and avoid alleys/areas that could conceal someone
  • Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
  • Don’t use earphones in both ears. Hearing can help avoid danger
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, find or call for help
  • Know the location of blue light emergency phones in the neighborhood
