A small group of internet-savvy Emmanuel students have decided to reopen the college’s chapter on the popular online college blogging platform, Her Campus. The initiative to start this was led by sophomore communications student Sammy Martin.
“It is meant to be a space for the team of students involved to create a bond through our shared passions,” said Martin.
The site will include six sections: features, celebrities, campus cuties, blogs, snapshots, and campus events. The students plan to update the sections at least once a week.
“I thought it would be a great opportunity for students interested in communications, journalism, public relations, and event planning to utilize their skills. [And] beyond the website, a Her Campus chapter is like a mini sorority,” Martin said when asked about the reason for relaunching.
Emmanuel used to have a page on Her Campus, but it was suddenly taken down.
Currently, the HerCampus page has a team of 35 students, and each work under a certain role. Roles include Feature Writers, Section Editors, Social Media Team, and Publicity Team. Each student can take on multiple roles, and are encourage to do so.
