New Comments Policy

In the past year, our comments section has gotten more foot traffic than usual, in part thanks to the popularity of some of our articles. That being said, some of the comments posted onto The Hub were not constructive in creating discussion. They attacked our writers and other commenters using harsh words. As a result, a comments policy has been drafted.

The editorial staff will approve all comments posted to before being published. Should your comment violate the following, it will not be published.

Comments containing foul language and/or derogatory/racial slurs will not be published.

Comments containing threats will not be published.

All comments posted treated as non-confidential. Remember, nothing you post on the Internet is truly anonymous. Email addresses used to comment will be traced back to the commenter should the comment violate the policy. Necessary action will ensue depending on the severity of the comment, the identity of the commenter, and their affiliation with Emmanuel College.

The comments section is a place for constructive dialogue on the topic to occur. Those individuals who decide to be rude and crass take away from the possibility for creative discussion.

Don’t be a jerk in your comments.
