The SGA is now offering free limited storage space in the basement of St. Joes for all on-campus clubs. SGA plans for the space to be open and ready for use by October 18th, 2015.
“Any on-campus clubs interested in a designated space can email email@example.com,” said SGA president Catherine Graham ’16. “Once they email, there will be section marked off for their club. Once clubs that email the asksga email will be able to store stuff in the room. The clubs will have to label all boxes with their club name and only put things on their assigned shelf so that we can keep it as neat and organized as possible.”
Club members can access this room by checking out a key at the St. Joe’s front desk. The keys can be checked out and any time and must be returned upon leaving the building. The storage space will be regularly monitored to make sure that the space is being used properly and kept clean.
The closet was previously known as the publications office and was briefly used by The Hub.
Before the SGA emptied out the room it housed two computers, storage for The Hub and about 15 boxes of old yearbooks that have since been given to the library and the alumni office.
“The room was not utilized for the best possible use,” said Graham. “As we are getting more and more clubs each year, it is important to have adequate storage for them.”
