Sunday October 19th Simmons College hosted their annual Haunted House attraction in Alumnae Hall as part of the Colleges of the Fenway Fall Festival. The event was put on by Class of ’17 and ’18 Campus Council. Admission to this event is always free for COF students.
“We brought in outside people to put it on,” said Campus Council President Kaitlyn Malone ’17. “It’s intense.”
Campus Council hired Simplified Entertainment Inc. to set up the haunted house and provide scary costumes, but the scarers were played Simmons students. Students decided to bring in Simplified Entertainment Inc. based on the company’s reputation of putting on the scariest haunted house attractions across the east coast.
The haunted mansion stood 25 feet tall and had five frightful rooms, each with their own scarers and probs. Groups of five were led through the mansion and told not to touch any of the scarers if they didn’t want to be touched themselves. Pictures and videos are not allowed inside the haunted house (it angers the spirits!).
Here is a video from other Simplified Entertainment haunted house experiences.
“Actually terrifying,” said Shylee Stewart, ’17 of her haunted mansion experience. “Scary AF.”
“The flashing lights made everything look slow motion,” said Lisa Nault, ’17 and Hillary Dommell, ’17. “The scariest part was the chainsaw. All of the music and sounds made it really scary.”
Zoe Lefkoit, ’19 and Yayo Pao, ’19 were not as scared. “It wasn’t really scary,” said Pao after her haunted experience. “It had interesting ideas and a good atmosphere.”
