2015 Christmas Tree Challenge Winners Revealed

The evening of December 3, 12 clubs decorated Christmas trees in the Upper JYC for the annual OSAMP Christmas Tree Challenge.

Clubs were given one hour to decorate their trees. Following the decoration, an online poll was opened where students could vote for the ‘fan favorite’ tree. All trees were judged December 4 at 9am by Tony Cibelli ’17, Tara D’Errico, Leah Kendall, Marilyn Kent and Alexa Simeone.

The winners were announced via an OSAMP blog post.

Chemistry Club won ‘Best in Show.’

EC Support Our Troops won ‘Creativity’ for the best display of the group’s mission and purpose. Their tree is also part of an event they are hosting where students purchase small items to donate to homeless veterans at the New England Homeless Veterans Center.

The Library Student Workers won ‘Display of School Spirit’ for showing clear ties to Emmanuel College.

The Hub won ‘Sustainability’ for incorporating creative re-use or repurposing of unexpected items.

The Science Living and Learning Community won ‘Teamwork,’ which means the members of the team worked together in a civil, collegial, and productive manner.

The ‘Fan Favorite’ elected by students was NAMI On-Campus.

ECEMS was awarded an honorable mention.

Trees will remain in the Upper JYC until the end of finals.
