Emmanuel’s Women’s Soccer team blanked the UMASS Boston Beacons in a 2-0 win on Tuesday night improving themselves to a 4-5 season record. The Saints were off to a slow start, but once they gained their rhythm, the field remained tilted their way all night.

The game included a total of 25 fouls, 15 of them coming from the Beacons. This helped Midfielder Maggie Carey ’17 in scoring the first goal of the night, her fifth goal of the season at 18:39 off a penalty kick in the first half.

Emmanuel was able to double their lead with Freshman Forward Kaylin Deschenes’s second goal of the season in the later portion of the second half off of an assist from Defenseman Kali DiPilla ’17.

Goalkeeper Victoria LaRoche ’18 remains on her hot streak making 4 saves on 9 shots leading her team to her third shutout and giving her a 1.98 GAA on the season so far.

The Saints are now preparing to face Roger Williams University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference matchup on Thursday 9/22 at 1PM.
