EC Athletics Weekly Recap: October 2 through October 8

Winning is the name of the game for these Saints! They dominated this week against all of their opponents. Emmanuel as a whole went 7-0 this week overpowering their outscoring them 19-1 in total points.

Women’s Soccer: 7-7-1

  • 1-0 win over Rivier Univeristy (10/5/16)
  • 6-0 win over Anna Maria College (10/8/16)

The women this week continued their dominance through goalkeeper Victoria LaRoche ’18 and their seniors. On Saturday’s Senior Day game against Anna Maria College three seniors scored in their pulverizing 6-0 win. Courtney Freadman ’17, Ashley Frank ’17, and Alison MacDonald ’17 all scored on their special day to glorify the run this team has been on since starting the season 0-4. Along with this great day for the seniors, goalkeeper Victoria LaRoche had her fifth shutout of the season.

Men’s Soccer: 5-6-2

  • 3-1 win over Lasell College (10/6/16)
  • 3-0 win over Anna Maria College (10/8/16)

The men rebounded from a tough week with a stellar performance against Lasell and Anna Marie College. On Saturday the men’s team was led by Collin O’Donnell ’17 scoring his ninth and tenth goals of the season. Goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrarini ’20 had his second shutout of the season in the impressive win.

Woman’s Volleyball: 10-12

  • 3-0 win over Regis College (10/6/16)
  • 3-0 win over Suffolk University (10/8/16)
  • 3-0 win over Albertus Magnus College (10/8/16)

In the past month the women’s volleyball team has gone 9-2. This is an unbelievable run for them, especially since they are 6-0 within the GNAC this year. The sky is the limit right now for these fantastic athletes.

Men’s Golf:

The Saints finished second at the 2016 EC Saints Invite where they carded a 352. The team was highlighted by Jack Scavone ’20 who led the team, shooting a 82. He was followed by Tyler Russ ’17 who shot a very conservative 85. The next match for the Saints is October 9 and 10 when they head to Gorham, Maine for the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic.
