EC Madness lived up to it’s name on Thursday, October 27.
The annual pep rally was held in the Emmanuel gym, allowing athletes and students to bring out their competitive nature while playing against each other in a variety of competitions.
Barely audible through the enthusiastic cheers of the competitors, host Donnie Litzelman ’17 introduced the events of a hot dog eating contest, egg toss, musical chairs, dodge ball, basketball, and tug of war.
Competitions were broken up by raffle drawings and a performance by the Dance Team.
Students continuously swarmed the floor, making sure to get a good view of their team members competing. It was clear why the event is called EC “Madness.”
“Tug of war at the end was the best part, it was so funny to see how into it everyone got,” Sarah Bradley ’19 stated at the event. During this event, everyone ran onto the gym floor.
The winning team, who dressed in black, consisting of the Women’s Softball team, Men’s Basketball team, Women’s Lacrosse team, and Satellite Campus students, was continuously amped throughout the night. They were the loudest of the four teams.
“I loved that everyone was getting hyped up and of course it was fun to win events,” Olivia Burgos ’19, a spirited member of the black team, said.
Overall, the event got the athletes and students excited for their upcoming games and seasons.
