“Aurora Nights” A Poem By Shumon Jenkins ’18

The moon waits patiently as the sun descends and echoes its presence across the heavens.

Leaving only small patterns that us mere humans can only describe as the universe.

As it reflects on this world, we begin to fathom the fact that what we want most, we can only see.

Reaching it is only a dream.

So that is what we do, as we sit by the cool water that reflects our surroundings.

And although we may be in darkness, our dreams in the sky become our light.

Until we wake up again.
