SGA Wrap Up: April 11, 2017

The Student Government Association (SGA) meeting held on April 11 was centered around major event requests from clubs around campus.

The meeting began with Dr.Rissmeyer, Vice President for Student Affairs, and Dan Darcy, Associate Dean of Students/Director of Students Activities, giving us their Adviser Reports.

Next, Major Event requests began with Emmanuel’s Field Hockey Club.

The amount was approved in full.

Next up, Emmanuel’s Black Student Union.

The night takes place on Friday, April 21 from 6pm-9pm in the Jean Yawkey Center.

The club is co-sponsoring with H.U.E.L.L.A.S, Asian Student Association, South Asian Students Association, Irish Club and Armenian Club.

The night will consist of international food, beverages and desserts, as well as performances by students and professionals.

The amount was approved in full.

Next, Emmanuel’s Swim Club.

The amount was approved in full.

Next, Baseball Club.

By a show of hands, the amount was approved in full.

Next, Kelli Connors, Assistant Director of Student Involvement and Leadership Development, was back to receive funding for the “Presence” device presented last Tuesday.

The SGA was all for funding the new platform, including Jessie Wang ’19 who stated, “This will revolutionize clubs on campus.”

The final amount of “Presence” was $6,800, and was approved in full.

Next, the Sustainability Committee presented information they found on the efficiency of the new building under construction.

Next in the meeting was Constitution changes.

Following Constitution Changes was Executive Updates.

Before Class Updates, Emmanuel’s Urban Food Project presented their request.

The amount was approved in full.

The meeting ended with Class Updates.
