After Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Jumanji 4 – or Jumanji 3 if you only look at the recent films – is rumored to be in the works. The film The Next Level was a box office smash.
The 2019 film grossed $800 million worldwide, and we all assumed that a sequel would follow, especially because The Next Level’s last moments teased a sequel that we’d love to see.
However, progress on the fourth Jumanji film has been slow, and we’re still no closer to seeing it.
Producer Hiram Garcia assured everyone in August 2021 that there will be a sequel; all we have to do now is wait.

Jumanji 4 release date: When will the fourth installment of the Jumanji franchise be released?
We don’t yet have a guaranteed release date for the next Jumanji film, nor do we know when it will be shot.
The previous two films, Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level, were both released in December (December 20, 2017, and December 13, 2019), and given how well they did at the box office, we anticipate a similar release date for the third film.
Director Jake Kasdan is collaborating with Dwayne Johnson on the holiday film Red One, with work on Jumanji 4 starting soon after.
Let’s hope they don’t procrastinate too much.
Who will reprise their roles in Jumanji 4?
Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black have all been a key part of the success of the new movies, so we’d be surprised if they weren’t returned as their in-game Jumanji roles.
They may not play as significant a role in the sequel as they did in The Next Level (more on that later), but it’s difficult to imagine a sequel without them.
