Netflix’s Emmy-nominated comedy-thriller Dead to Me from creator Liz Feldman flies by like a page-turning summer beach read with its many juicy twists and enticing crime-fueled drama. As the storey of two Laguna Beach BFFs whose lives are turned upside down by a tragic event and brought them together over a shared love for Entenmann’s and The Facts of Life, as well as a few deaths and incriminating secrets that follow them around, the show has amassed a large fan base for its sense of humour, the savvy way it handles trauma and the breadcrumbs of jaw-drubbing revelations.

There were many open-ended questions left unanswered when Season 2 of the show premiered in May 2020, including the wild cliffhanger that the show has become known for. Dead to Me Season 3 is still up in the air, but here’s what we know so far about the Netflix show Thelma and Louise.dead-to-me-season-3-everything-we-know-so-far-scaled-3339770

How Many Seasons of Dead to Me Will There Be?

Yes! As of July 2020, Dead to Me will be returning for a third and final season on Netflix. Liz Feldman, the show’s creator, tells Deadline that she never intended for the show to be a long one. While working on Season 2, Feldman mapped out the show’s conclusion, so there’s no need to worry: Jen and Judy’s friendship will come to an end. During production on Season 2, Feldman said, “The end of the show came to me, pretty profoundly,” and he decided that Season 3 was the right time to tell the storey he wanted to. “It’s just something that came to me naturally, and I tend to follow my intuition.”

Are There Any Plans for a Third Season of Dead to Me?

The time is ticking down, shouldn’t it? After three weeks of filming, the show was scheduled to wrap up in early 2022, according to a Deadline report from December of that year.

Although production of the show began in May of 2021, the show was put on hold in August when star Christina Applegate tweeted that she had recently been diagnosed with MS. She posted a message to her followers on Twitter “I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) about a year ago. That was a strange journey, to say the least. However, I’ve received a lot of support from people I know who have the same condition. The journey has been difficult. We all know that the road never ends. Unless some scumbag gets in the way.” Also on her account, “According to a friend who has multiple sclerosis, “we wake up and do the indicated action.” The same is true for me. As a result, I must request your respect for my right to privacy. As I make my way through this. Thank you so much.”

There is a good chance that some of Season 3 went through postproduction during the time that production resumed in fall 2021. In the spring of 2022, we expect our final check-in with Jen and Judy to be our final one. Applegate hinted at new episodes “soon” in a January tweet, so spring is a safe bet.Dead To Me Season 3 will be the final Season for the Show, All Details here - Finance Rewind

Dead to Me Season 3 Has How Many Episodes?

The final season will likely have 10 episodes, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Seasons 1 and 2 both had 10 episodes.

Who’s Going to Be Back in the Cast?

The twisting crime series has a lot of murder, but at least the main characters haven’t been killed off yet. Even though Jen and Judy got into a car accident at the end of Season 2, you can bet they’ll be back for more. Their often toxic, sometimes reliable friendship is central to the programme, therefore they’ll be around for the duration of its run.

James Marsden will reprise his role as Ben in the upcoming season. There was no doubt that Marsden would not return to the show after Jen murdered Judy’s ex-fiancé Steve at the end of Season 1. Dead to Me, on the other hand, pulled off one of the oldest and most cliched ruses in the book by recasting him as Steve’s identical twin brother Ben. We know Ben will be back because he’s still around and involved in the same storyline as Jen and Judy. “Ben goes on quite a journey” in the forthcoming episodes, Liz Feldman revealed to Entertainment Weekly.

Surprisingly, she also said that we’ll see more of Marsden in his role as Steve. For now, that means flashbacks but I’m sure we’ll hear more about his malicious dealings in the future.

On the other hand, Jen’s kids Charlie and Henry (Sam McCarthy and Luke Roessler) and her unpleasant neighbour Karen (Suzy Nakamura) and detectives Ana Perez (Diana Maria Riva) and Nick Prager should all be in the running for the show’s remaining roles (Brandon Scott). At the end of Season 2, it was revealed that police chief Howard Hastings (Jere Burns) was corrupt and working with the mob.

There were a few intriguing new elements introduced last season, but it wasn’t obvious if we’d see more of them in the future. Linda Cardellini’s fan account on Twitter claims that Judy’s mother Katey Sagal and Michelle’s co-star Natalie Morales were sighted on production for the next season. Seeing as Judy’s mother is in prison, it’s impossible to say how much we’ll see of them together, but their ties could become even more essential to the storey. Frances Conroy, who appeared in Season 2 as Eileen Woods, Ben and Steve’s mother, is still undecided.

What Can We Expect From Dead to Me Season 3?

Season 3 will focus on a different character’s secret since the previous two seasons dealt with the hit-and-run that killed Jen’s husband and the second season dealt with the fact that Jen didn’t kill Steve in self-defence. Liz Feldman, the show’s executive producer, told Refinery29 that she had a good idea of where Season 3 would go based on how Season 2 concluded. So, now there’s another one with a secret, she remarked. Since Ben smashed into Jen and Judy while driving under the influence and then drove away from the scene, that’s probably a reference. The “continuous give and take of, Do you tell someone something if you know it would hurt them?” is something Feldman is interested in investigating further. As a result, the following part should focus on Ben’s decision to abandon the accident, which may have resulted in Jen’s injury, and the ensuing legal proceedings.

In an interview with TV Guide, James Marsden hinted at the prospect of a third season that would focus on Ben’s increasing difficulties. He stated, “His brother’s death may have been the result of a hit-and-run, but he’s also likely to learn that Jen was involved. They were the victims of a hit-and-run, as well In the first season, his brother was found guilty of a hit-and-run… In my opinion, [Ben] is making a conscious effort to look in the mirror when no one is looking and do the right thing, but occasionally the forces of nature can overwhelm.”

Even with all the cameras in Jen’s neighbourhood, “the forces” are bound to “overwhelm,” and Ben’s secret will likely be exposed sooner rather than later. According to paparazzi photos of Christina Applegate in a wheelchair on the set, it appears that the driver is at least partially responsible for her injuries. As a result of that revelation, Jen and Judy could potentially be trying to gain leverage over Ben in Season 3. Since Steve’s body was recovered and the investigation is still ongoing, Detective Perez may need to make a deal with Ben to keep both Jen and Judy quiet about their separate crimes if Jen and Judy are proven to have been involved in it.

Perhaps Steve’s money laundering and link to the Greek mafia will be revisited in Season 3 as well. In the forthcoming season, we’ll learn more about the shady characters Steve worked with when he was still alive, as well as the fact that the head of police is somehow implicated. Agent Perez, Jen, and Judy may be able to persuade the mob to hide the women’s misdeeds, or they may engage in even more criminal activities. No matter how hard they try, the secrets of the SoCal amigos just can’t seem to stay that way.
