Time for vacation! HBO’s White Lotus is coming back for a second season in 2022. The dark comedy will look and feel a little different than before, though. If you don’t like rich people, don’t worry. The show will still have a lot of people viewers will love to hate.
Mike White, who made the anthology series, is back for a second time. This time, the anthology focused on the mishaps of the rich and famous while on vacation at a posh Hawaiian resort called The White Lotus.
The first season had a group of people, including White’s best friend Jennifer Coolidge, as well as Connie Britton, Steve Zahn, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Lacy, Sydney Sweeney, and more. This is how it worked: Each of the actors played a character who carelessly caused trouble on the island. Misdeeds ranged from apathy to accidental murder. The prelude to the latter was a CGI moment that viewers can’t get rid of no matter how hard they try, even if they want to.

For another season, he said, “I think there’s a way to get at some new themes and do it in a way that feels new from this one.”
They want to change the show’s direction in season 2, but he still wants it to be about people who aren’t very nice.
In August, the Good Girl actor told Vulture that if he wanted to make a good show, he could. In my mind, I think I could make characters that fit some people’s political and cultural views, and maybe even my own! If I did that, I would be pandering.
White can go in any direction he wants. There are rumors that the show could move to Europe and have more than a few familiar faces from the first season. HBO is on board.
It was the network’s executive vice president, Francesca Orsi, who said in a September 2021 statement that she and other people at the network were “thrilled to hear where he wanted to go next,” and that they “can’t wait to keep following him wherever he takes us.”

A New Cast
White has bad news for people who want to see all of their favorite characters together again. The writer for Freaks and Geeks said in August 2021, “I don’t think you can have [all the guests from season one] go on vacation together again.”
If it was like the Marvel Universe, “some of them might come back,” said the man who spoke to the group. So, we’d have to see if any of the actors are still available for the next year.
It was in January 2022 that F. Murray Abraham, Adam DiMarco, Tom Hollander, and Haley Lu Richardson were cast as series regulars for the show’s second season, making them regulars.
When Theo James and Meghann Fahy signed up for the streaming show, it was a month after that.
There Is a New Jennifer Coolidge in Town!
In October 2021, it was said that the star of Legally Blonde would be back for season 2. It’s not clear if she’s going to play Tanya McQuoid, a boozy socialite who was at the resort to spread her mother’s ashes or a different character who will be just as funny.
