The resurrected FOX series finished its fifth season in May 2017 with a completely crazy finale, ‘Behind the Eyes,’ which included two severe narrative twists and a happy ending for Michael Scofield. The show was never intentionally silly (played by Wentworth Miller).
It was verified, however, a little more than a year later that a “new edition” was in the planning stages.
Where is Prison Break season six now, and when can we expect to see it on television?
So far, here’s what we know:
Is There Going To Be A Sixth Season Of Prison Break?
A new Prison Break was confirmed by FOX in January of this year, and the show will return for a fifth season. “It’s in the very early stages of development,” said Michael Thorn, the company’s entertainment president. Though we’re very enthused about it.
It’s worth noting that Miller himself has voiced a desire to return to his role in the future “In my mind, there is always room for more. No matter how justified, stylish, or edgy it may seem, so long as the narrative is worth sharing.
“If it doesn’t please and surprise the fans, it’s a waste of their time. I’m willing to talk to you about anything.”
However, as soon as the initial excitement for the’reboot,’ er,’reiteration,’ wore off, everything began to go wrong.
Despite “demand… from fans… and some of the actors,” series creator Paul Scheuring departed the project, saying that he “couldn’t tell you another tale about this bunch of individuals.” Paul Scheuring.
It’s possible someone else can, he said. In the event that I come up with a new prison break plan, “I would bet against it,” I say.
Dana Walden, FOX’s CEO at the time, was enthusiastic about the new series, but his replacement sounded less enthusiastic.
Charlie Collier, the new CEO of Fox Entertainment, made the statement following the network’s merger with Disney in February 2019: “While Prison Break and the other franchises aren’t being revived at this time, I’m so grateful to have them in our stable because I’m so proud of them and feel so fortunate that they have been a part of my life for so long.
The Prison Break writers’ room released a statement in August 2019 that read, “Nothing is ever dead (remember when Sara was decapitated?), but for now, the elusive season six is not on the cards.”
Dominic Purcell (who plays Lincoln on the show) revealed his aspirations for a sixth season in 2020, stating that the coronavirus epidemic has opened a “steely resolve” in him to get it made.
According to him, “we are all in agreement that if the narrative is worthy it will be made.”
I’m confident that with #socialdistance and strict adherence to expert opinion, we will all as one be victorious over #coronavirus — corporations like Netflix are thirsty for content,” he said.
To add fuel to the Prison Break blaze, Purcell posted another Instagram update, which has since been deleted “The sixth season of The Walking Dead is planned. Yes…..”
Hi, Prison Breakers! I’m just dropping in to share some bummer news. Nothing is ever dead (remember when Sara was decapitated?), but for now, the elusive season 6 is not in the cards. But we love you and are so grateful for all of you. #PrisonBreakhttps://t.co/3Tw1MuRNqr

Who Will Star In The Sixth Season Of Prison Break?
It was Vaun Wilmott who suggested that the gang might return if “the appropriate storyline comes along,” hinting that any of the key characters remaining alive at the end of the most recent mini-series could return.
We now know that Miller’s return is exceedingly doubtful, but there are still a number of other favorites who are still in the running, such as:
Lincoln Burrows stars Dominic Purcell, Rockmond Dunbar, Robert Knepper, Amaury Nolasco, and Inbar Lavi (Sheba)
As Sara Tancredi-Scofield, Sarah Wayne Callies’s future is uncertain.
Ja (Rick Yune), a reoccurring character, is potentially a possibility for any future version.
Even though Kellerman (Paul Adelstein) was killed off in the most recent episodes, Adelstein is still indicating that he could return in season six of the show.
It’s not a farewell song for him, he stated. “It’s Prison Break, after all. To be honest, there’s no way to tell for sure whether or not to believe what you see.”
Since Michael and Sara have both successfully resurrected from the dead, it’s possible that anything can happen.
As a result, anyone in the cast could disappear at any time.
Could Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner), an ex-FBI special agent, have a role to play in the upcoming season?
There is “somewhere between [a] 50-150 percent possibility” that Mahone will return for Prison Break season six, according to Scheuring himself on Twitter.
Similarly, Scheuring couldn’t fit fan-favorite character Fernando Sucre into any of the nine episodes of the revival. However, things could change in the future.
