When Will Van Helsing Season 5 Be Released?
Season 5 of Van Helsing was always expected to be released in 2020, and production delays caused by the coronavirus outbreak haven’t altered that plan. According to executive producer Chad Oakes, at the show’s [email protected] panel, it is possible that the series would return in the late fall or early winter – November or December – and then return to the air for season five. Once the specific day has been determined, we will update this article.
Plot
The story of Van Helsing takes place in a post-apocalyptic near future. When Vanessa Van Helsing awakens from a coma three years after her supposed death, she finds herself in a post-apocalyptic world where an eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera has blanketed the world in ash, blocking sunlight and allowing vampires to overrun humanity. Van Helsing is a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing.

Due to her unusual blood makeup, she is humanity’s last hope, as she has the potential to transform vampires back into humans and save the world. Vanessa becomes a top target for the vampires as a result of her use of this secret weapon. In order for her to lead the resistance against the vampires that torment the world’s survivors, she is shielded by a Marine who has been assigned to keep her safe, as well as the doctor who saved her life.
In the second season, Vanessa travels east towards the safe haven of Denver, Colorado, where she comes face to face with her long-lost sister Scarlett, who has been taught to fight vampires since she was a child. Season three sees Vanessa and Scarlett on a hunt for the Elders, the first vampires, with the goal of putting them out of business once and for all.
Following Vanessa’s apparent death in the fourth season, the series shifts its focus to her long-lost biological daughters Violet and Jack, who must battle a new breed of vampires known as “daywalkers,” as well as the “Dark One,” the vampire species’ ruler, Countess Olivia von Dracula and her brides, including a former countess of Transylvania and de-facto President of the United States.
The Van Helsing Season 5 Ensemble
Season 5 of Van Helsing will feature new cast members Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy), Ali Liebert (Bomb Girls), and Steve Bacic, as well as returning cast members (Andromeda). In the film, Coates will portray Olivia’s husband, Count Dalibor, who, despite having the best of intentions, makes some fatal decisions. Liebert will play Nina, a vampire with a colourful background involving Julius and a hidden, deadly ambition. Liebert will be seen in the film as Nina. A wild vampire dressed in animal skins, Bacic will play the Father, who has been hiding in an abandoned mine with a child for the past several years.
In a press release issued shortly after filming resumed in the summer, executive producer and Nomadic Pictures co-chair Michael Frislev remarked, “Kim, Ali, and Steve are amazing talents, and we are happy to welcome them to our Van Helsing family.”
In Van Helsing season 4, lead actress Kelly Overton was noticeably absent from the action due to her pregnancy at the time of filming. This allowed other characters to take centre stage, including Nicole Muoz as Jack and Keeya King as Violet, both of whom had their own ties to the Van Helsing legacy. Fans can expect to see Vanessa in her full glory in season 5, while also enabling the new characters to keep their full vigour throughout the season.
Jonathan Scarfe will not only reprise his role as Axel in order to aid in the abolition of the vampire apocalypse, but he will also serve as the show’s director for four episodes in Van Helsing season 5.
