Ark 2’s announcement at The Game Awards in 2020 came as a complete surprise to everyone, but where is the game currently in the development process?
My expectations for Ark were, to put it mildly, low, especially considering the presence of top-tier talent such as Vin Diesel. However, it is precisely what occurred. Our knowledge of Ark 2 is limited, but it is far more extensive than our knowledge of most other games that have not even been given a release date as of this writing. My first assumption was that there wouldn’t be much of a narrative to convey.

I was wrong. After that, I dug into the DLC sequences from the previous game and discovered that Vin Diesel did indeed appear towards the very end of the previous DLC for the game in which he appeared. In my opinion, the second instalment of the Ark series is going to be a crazy voyage through time and space.
An official release date for Ark 2 has been announced.
There is currently no set release date for Art 2, which is a disappointment. The fact that it will be published sometime in 2022 means that you won’t have to wait for much longer than that is a good thing. During the presentation of The Game Awards in 2020, it was confirmed that Ark 2 will be a platform launch exclusive for the Xbox Series X|S system, which was shown in the first video.

It is commonly known among those who have spent a large amount of time playing Ark: Survival Evolved that it takes a significant amount of work to figure out what the hell is going on in the story. Certainly, it is not a typical plot, and there is a lot of work to be done in order to make those in-game cutscenes seem as fantastic as they possibly can.
Ark 2 appears to be taking a more user-friendly approach to the game, which is a welcome change. A glimpse of a very familiar face appeared in the latest video for Ark 2, and it is that of Vin Diesel, who will be portraying the hero character Santiago in the sequel.
It is currently unknown whether or not Ark 2 will feature an overarching storyline of some sort. If Vin Diesel appears in the game as a non-player character (NPC) in the open world, it’s feasible that he’ll also feature as a playable character. In the first game, all you have to do is create a player-character that is visually appealing. It looks that there are aggressive humanoids in the game who appear to be monsters, which was not the case in the original game, at least when I played it, based on the screenshots.
To distinguish Ark 2 from its predecessor and establish itself as a high-quality AAA product, it would almost certainly be best to have a fully fleshed-out narrative starring one of Hollywood’s most well-known actors. I had no idea what to expect from the small dinosaur game, which was first published in early access on Xbox One in 2017 and later made its way into general release.

At the very end of Ark: Survival Evolved, we see Vin Diesel’s character departing his pod and landing on a new world, which is most likely where Ark 2 will take place, but that is all we know about the film so far. Ark: Survival Evolved is now playing in theatres nationwide.

Aliens, extra robot dinosaurs, dragons, a space fight, and David Tennant are just a few of the many new features that have been added since my previous visit to Ark since I last played it.
The details of what Ark 2 has in store for us are still a mystery, but the trailer gave us the impression that it would be a relatively light game in comparison to the original game.
However, because the previous game began in a similar manner, it’s very possible that Ark 2 may press the reload button and restart the game before allowing players to participate in full-blown mecha battles with monsters in the first instance.
Ark 2 needs to be able to unwind a little, and I’m hopeful that some of the in-game clocks will cooperate. Following a three-day trip, I returned home to find that all of my dinosaurs had perished due to malnutrition, despite the fact that I had spent endless hours trying to capture them. This left me feeling worried.
Ark 2 has, in my opinion, taken on a completely different tone than the original game, and it is quite likely that the new tone established at the start of the game will be a considerable divergence from the first game as well.
The implementation of a more streamlined introduction to more complex technologies is the goal, at least in theory. That remains to be seen until the next teaser is released, at which point we will know for certain.
Specifications for the Ark 2 computer
No information regarding Ark 2 is available at this time, and it is unclear what kind of computer will be required for it. Nevertheless, if Ark: Survival Evolved is any indication, you’ll need a monster PC in order to play it at a playable frame-rate.
Currently, the minimal system requirements for Ark: Survival Evolved were an Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD FX-8320 processor with 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 670 2GB or AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB GPU at the time of writing. Any Ark player, on the other hand, would tell you that such specs are completely inadequate for maintaining the chaos that is Ark: Survival Evolved.
There are multiple videos available of people playing Ark: Survival Evolved at 1080p at 60 frames per second on high settings with GPUs from the 10-series, and the game has received positive reviews.

If I had to guess, I’d assume that RTX 20-series graphics cards will be necessary to run Ark 2 at its highest possible performance level. Even low-cost gaming laptops equipped with graphics cards from the 30 series proved to be adequate for this task, as evidenced by the results.
Outlook
For some reason, the fact that Ark 2 is coming out and that Vin Diesel will be a part of it still seems strange to me. To be sure, there are still a lot of details to be worked out with regard to this game, including who will play the main character and how it will look overall.
At this point in time, however, it appears that the reaction from fans has been largely positive. I’m looking forward to seeing where this science fiction adventure takes us.
