According to Variety’s April 7 story, The Crown’s fifth season will begin filming in London in July 2021. Season 5 would begin filming again “in a couple of hours” following the Emmy Awards in September 2021, according to Peter Morgan.

Deadline, on the other hand, reported towards the end of January 2020 that the show’s fifth season would be the last. From Amy Roberts, costume designer for season 4, we may learn a lot about Diana in season 5 by looking at her clothes from the previous season. During the Christmas photoshoot at Balmoral, Diana appears dressed in a “killer dress,” and this is “a moment when she starts putting on armor.
Her character does this in the following series. This is the first true moment in which she thinks, “Well, I’m going to battle you all. We will make it through this.'”
It was also confirmed in October 2020 that The Wire and The Affair actor Dominic West would play Prince Charles on Season 5 of The Crown. In April of the following year, 2021, the news was officially reported by Variety. Josh O’Connor, who played Prince Charles in seasons three and four of the show, would be replaced by the Brit.
