Manifest will return to Netflix for a fourth season, the network has announced. An allusion to the series’ pivotal Flight 828, a plane that returns to Jamaica with its passengers five years after setting off from Jamaica, was made at 8:28 a.m. on 8/28/2021.
Most of the actors, including Josh Dallas and Melissa Roxburgh, will return for the show’s final season (or two). When initially declining to renew the show, Netflix and the show’s developer NBC were compelled to reevaluate their stances after Manifest’s arrival on Netflix surpassed streaming records in the United States and was renewed for a second season in August 2021.
For creator Jeff Rake, “the show’s death and rebirth is really meta because that’s exactly what the program is about,” as he explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“Manifest” refers to the show’s titular “manifest,” a group of individuals who had all been considered dead for years until their jet landed in New York City. As Dallas and Roxburgh, a brother and sister duo, try to put their lives back together and discover what happened to them, the show follows their journey.
Two months after Netflix purchased the first and second seasons of Manifest, the streaming service decided to extend the show’s run. A total of 25 million Netflix accounts in the United States and Canada viewed the show in its first month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Although it had slipped from the top of the charts, Netflix’s popularity with Manifest had not waned. For six weeks in a row starting in August 2021, Nielson revealed that Manifest has broken its streaming-ratings records with over a billion views per week. It was only in September that Manifest became only the third Netflix show in history to remain in the Top 10 for more than 100 days at the same time.

Season 4 of Manifest Has Yet to Be Announced.
Probably in the winter of 2022. According to Matt Long, the actor who portrays Zeke, the fourth season of Manifest will probably premiere in the fall or winter of 2022. In answer to Stephen King’s question on the return of Manifest, creator Rake wrote, “I’m hearing November.”
But remember when Rake said there would be a “batch” of new episodes, rather than a complete season of fresh content?? Although he used strong language, the 20 new episodes of the show will not air all at once, which explains why he used it.
It’s possible that Manifest may release eight episodes in its next “batch” and 12 in the following “batch”—likely to be packaged as Season Four, Part One, and Season Four, Part Two, Lucifer-style.
According to a source from TV Line in March, “the supernatural drama’s farewell flight is on track to take off “late this year” and to be given in many parts (of a quantity and frequency TBD!).
Season 4 of Manifest Has Yet to Be Announced.
Many things, actually. That means Rake will have to condense the three seasons’ worth of plot into just 20 episodes. In an interview with EW, he stated: ” “The final outcome will remain the same… I am convinced that 20 episodes will allow me to deliver the complete story that I originally planned to tell.”
“Things are going to be a little…different,” Josh Dallas, who portrays Ben, tweeted with a picture of his new beard. This makes sense, given that his character has just suffered a major setback. (SPOILER ALERT!) Dallas responded to a fan who said, “Love the beard, but my heart is hurting for Ben,” saying, “To be honest… he’s not in a great position.”
Rake went into further detail in an interview with TV Insider regarding Ben’s season four plans following the events of season three’s conclusion. It is clear that Ben’s Season 4 of Manifest is all about dealing with the death of his wife, and then trying to justify the act in terms of finding some purpose out of it.” Tweeted: “Brace yourselves” with an on-set photo of a funeral.
In Season 4, Who Are the Cast Members?
Actors were no longer contractually obligated after June 2021 as reported by Deadline’s Andreeva. As a result, most of the actors signed on in September, except the character who died at the end of season three, and the character who…unexpectedly matured (no spoilers!). Thankfully. Daryl Edwards, who plays Vance, has also been elevated to the status of series regular.
Meanwhile, the actor who appeared at the conclusion of season three replaced the role who abruptly aged. So sad that the two actors who won’t return for Season 4 of Manifest were so important, as Andreeva claims that the surviving cast members will receive “sizable compensation hikes.”
According to Netflix’s What’s on Netflix, the fourth season will include a few new characters, although minor ones. Among the passengers on Flight 828 were Kyle Boyd, Tela, and June, all of whom we’ve come to know and love over the years.
The official Manifest Twitter account shared a picture of Zeke’s actor, Matt Long, and Roxburgh on set on Valentine’s Day:

What Happened to Manifest After It Was Axed by the Network?
Even before the buzz surrounding Manifest started building in the summer of 2021, the show had been passed up by both NBC and Netflix for a second season. A devoted fan following kept the show going, with millions of Netflix minutes, watched every week.
It was “very fulfilling and inspiring,” Rake tells the Hollywood Reporter. “Before we even had a chance to lift a finger to figure out if we need a PR campaign to help save us, the fans stood up and developed this campaign and spread the word.”
Eventually, others began to notice. Do you hear me, Netflix or Hulu, or whatever the powers that be are? ” “MAKE IT HAPPEN,” writes Lauren Yapalater at BuzzFeed. “Why would Netflix pass up saving what is a show with clearly a massively engaged fanbase?” asked Forbes’ Paul Tassi.
A petition to bring back Manifest garnered more than 100,000 signatures. Even Demi Lovato and Kourtney Kardashian have admitted to being fans of the Netflix series since it debuted. “Save Manifest” was even tweeted by Stephen King.
For months after its cancellation, Manifest occupied the number one slot on Netflix’s Top 10, its list of the most-watched titles. The Hollywood Reporter stated that the show’s crucial fourth and final season was based on those top-secret numbers created by viewers who had binged the show’s first two seasons.
According to Matthew Belloni’s “What I’m Hearing” email, Netflix chose to aggressively pursue the show and eventually beat out NBC. Telling THR that “it soon became evident that there was just more compelling case for transferring the program over to Netflix and starting and concluding with the legions of new fans who had grown in Netflix universe,” Rake noted that
