When The Flight Attendant featuring Kaley Cuoco premiered on HBO back in 2020, it was only a matter of time until it made its way to Sky five months later. The series begins with Kaley’s character Cassie, an alcoholic flight attendant, waking up next to the dead body of a customer she went on a date with after they arrived in Thailand, based on the Chris Bohjalian book of the same name.
Given the massive conclusion and subsequent Golden Globe nominations, we’re not shocked that the program was extended for a second season so soon after its debut. What Can We Expect From Season 2 of the Flight Attendant?
Cuoco says a “new journey” awaits Cassie in season two, while HBO says the series will be a “new chapter” for the character. Season 2 will be like “a new Hitchcock movie for Cassie to wander into,” according to showrunner Steve Yockey.
Cuoco teased the new series by saying that Cassie would be trying to get sober and focus on the CIA’s recent interest in her. Cassadee was quoted as saying: “She’s going to strive to live a sober life while still being who she was,” in an interview with Variety in August 2021:
As Cuoco said, “And I believe she’s going to battle with the most, ‘Am I the same person that was before?’ Or do I have a chance of being popular? ‘Am I still entertaining?'”
“This is someone who is her usual self when she’s slowly basically medicating herself all day long,” Cuoco said while discussing her character’s fight to get sober. And when all of that is gone, she begins to fall,” she says.
Additionally, Cuoco stated that Cassie’s life would undergo various adjustments as well. A “CIA asset” is “a pretty modest job,” she claimed, and “This is not some agent… She’s a minuscule asset, to put it mildly. As a result, she gets herself into a predicament that she shouldn’t be in. “
