What’s the Story About?

In the mythical world of Riko, a young orphaned girl, the story focuses on her. There, she is a resident at Belchero Orphanage in the fictitious Orth city.

The village sits on the brink of a large, unexplained hole in the earth known as the Abyss. It’s buried deep under the soil. An old civilization dwells under the surface and is hence the goal of “Cave Raiders,” who are adventurers that descend deep into the Abyss to collect artefacts and priceless treasure from an ancient civilization that is thought to have been long extinct. Of course, the road ahead will not be without difficulties.

It’s Unclear What “Made in Abyss” Is About.

As the anime begins, a strange hole known as the Abyss may be found in Ort. To go deeper, you’ll be subjected to “the curse of the abyss,” which is activated when you return to the surface. As a result, those cave raiders who are brave enough to go into the Abyss are held in great respect. In addition, several of them have been dubbed “famous White Whistles” for their storied history.

A White Whistle’s daughter, Riko, is the protagonist of this tale. She makes the difficult decision to go into the Abyss in search of her long-lost mother.

With the help of her robot friend Reg, she makes her way across what seems to be an unending Abyss, which is as bit as horrifying as it is vast.
