It has been announced that the second season of the Made in Abyss anime would begin airing in Japan in July 2022. Kadokawa revealed the release date of the forthcoming season, along with a new key art of Riko, Nanachi, and Reg. Additional artwork for several of the characters slated to feature in season 2 has also been published to the official website. Thank you, Natalie!
Following an orphan called Riko, the first season of the anime focused on a robot named Reg. Making in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun is the official title for the second half of the season. The forthcoming season will include a slew of new characters in addition to those from the previous season’s cast. Characters from prior teaser trailers feature in this one.
Riko, Reg, and Nanachi continue their descent into the titular Abyss with the game’s latest key art. There is a little change in appearance for each character from last season. New character art and key visuals show Riko without her brown jacket, instead sporting her green coat tied at the waist.
When will the Second Season of Made in Abyss air?
Made in Abyss was added to Cartoon Network’s schedule alongside Assassination Classroom in January of 2013. The first season aired in 2017 and two compilation films were produced in 2019 to coincide with the second season.
The release date has been tentatively set for September 2022, but we’ll let you know as soon as it’s official. There is no word of a release in English or an international dub. Netflix and Adult Swim are streaming the first season of Made in Abyss.
What’s the Story About?
In the mythical world of Riko, a young orphaned girl, the story focuses on her. There, she is a resident at Belchero Orphanage in the fictitious Orth city. The village sits on the brink of a large, unexplained hole in the earth known as the Abyss. It’s buried deep under the soil. An old civilization dwells under the surface and is hence the goal of “Cave Raiders,” who are adventurers that descend deep into the Abyss to collect artefacts and priceless treasure from an ancient civilization that is thought to have been long extinct. Of course, the road ahead will not be without difficulties.

It’s Unclear What “Made in Abyss” Is About.
As the anime begins, a strange hole known as the Abyss may be found in Ort. To go deeper, you’ll be subjected to “the curse of the abyss,” which is activated when you return to the surface. As a result, those cave raiders who are brave enough to go into the Abyss are held in great respect. In addition, several of them have been dubbed “famous White Whistles” for their storied history.
A White Whistle’s daughter, Riko, is the protagonist of this tale. She makes the difficult decision to go into the Abyss in search of her long-lost mother. With the help of her robot friend Reg, she makes her way across what seems to be an unending Abyss, which is as bit as horrifying as it is vast.
