In the United States, DirecTV Stream is the name of a series of services that stream multichannel television.
All of the Services Use the Same Infrastructure and Software.
When AT&T TV becomes national in March 2020 and DirecTV Stream is replaced by AT&T TV, it will be known as AT&T TV. Rather of contracting with conventional television providers, Android TV-based set-top boxes are being utilized instead. AT&T WatchTV, which debuted in June 2018, does not offer local or sports channels. Direct-to-consumer service AT&T TV Now (previously DirecTV Now) was launched on November 30, 2016, as a direct competitor to over-the-top television providers.
Divide DirecTV, U-verse, and AT&T TV by 2021, with TPG Capital taking a 30 percent share and AT&T keeping 70 percent of the company. The service’s name was modified to reflect the agreement on August 2, 2021.
