Domestic Girlfriend is a 2019 anime series based on Kei Sasuga’s manga series of the same name. The anime was animated by Diomedéa and aired on MBS, TBS, and BS-Animeism TBS’s programming block from January 12 to March 30, 2019. On July 12, 2018, the anime television series adaption was revealed. Shta Ihata directed the series, which was scripted by Tatsuya Takahashi and animated by studio Diomedéa. The series’ character designs are created by Naomi Ide.
Minami’s “Kawaki wo Ameku” is the opening theme, and Alisa Takigawa’s “Wagamama” is the ending theme.
Sentai Filmworks purchased the series’ distribution rights in North America, the British Isles, Australasia, South Africa, and other regions and the rights to rebroadcast it on various platforms.
The Plot of Domestic Girlfriend Season 2-
Natsuo Fujii, a high school student in Japan, is the protagonist of Domestic Girlfriend. Natsuo had feelings for his instructor Hina, but she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. When Natsuo meets Rui, a young girl who seduces him into having sex with her, things change for him. Natsuo, who couldn’t stop himself, is having a physical relationship with Rui.
When Natsuo realises that Rui has no deep feelings for him and merely wants to have a physical relationship with him, he feels obliged to believe that he has betrayed his true love.
Things start to get tricky when he discovers that Rui is Hina’s younger sister and that they are both the progeny of a woman who was recently cast away by his father and who will soon marry.

There was a big change in events in the final episode. When Hina and Natsuo’s illicit love is uncovered, Hina accepts full responsibility and flees, leaving behind a heartbreaking farewell note for Natsuo.
Natsuo, who couldn’t stop his heart from breaking, penned a novel about his life. Natsuo afterward puts Hina behind him and receives a citation for his novel.
Rui was also seen making advances on Natsuo once Hina was no longer around.

When will the Second Season of Domestic Girlfriend be Released?
As previously said, no formal confirmation has been made by Kodansha, Diomedea (Slime Season 3, Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2, Vinland Saga Season 2), or any other organization involved in the creation of the anime Domestic na Kanojo.
However, in the case of renewal, we may be able to witness Domestic Girlfriend Season 2 as early as next year, as producing another single cour season for an anime series does not take a long time. Domestic Girlfriend Season 2 is set to premiere in 2022.
WILL DOMESTIC GIRLFRIEND RETURN FOR A SECOND SEASON?
Diomedéa or any anime-related company has not yet renewed the Domestic Girlfriend for a second season as of January 11, 2022, at the time of writing. We’ve been keeping an eye on the anime’s official website and Twitter accounts, and the only recent attention has been on blu-ray advertising. There has yet to be any preparation or renewal news for the second season.
