“Love Always” is the message LeToya Luckett shared with her ex-husband after announcing their divorce.
The marriage of LeToya Luckett and Tommicus Walker has come to an end.
After three years of marriage and four months after the birth of their son Tysun Wolf, the 39-year-old former Destiny’s Child member and 40-year-old Texas entrepreneur announced their divorce on Monday.
Tysun, 4 months old, and Gianna Iman, 2 years old, are the two children that Tommicus and I have chosen to divorce after “very careful deliberation.” Our children deserve a calm home, and I want us to be loving co-parents who treat each other with respect.
“Love always,” she captioned the message, which she closed with: “Please understand our need for privacy.” As a family, we are very grateful for your prayers, support, and room to recover at this difficult time.
Similar sentiments were expressed by Walker, who called their choice “extremely tough.”
“We ask that you please respect our privacy and the safety of our children at this time,” he wrote. “We are delighted to continue our long-term friendship as caring friends who have a deep respect and admiration for one another.”
When the singer revealed in September that they were expecting a baby, the news of their divorce came mere months later.
“God, thank you for blessing our baby to come healthy, strong, & full of light,” Walker posted on Instagram at the time of his son’s arrival. “a time to be very proud I’m looking forward to the memories we make together and the conversations between father and son. I adore you, King Tysun the Little.”
In December 2017, Walker and Luckett married in a small ceremony in the Texas Hills Country. Their romance was made public in August 2017 when he proposed on her birthday.
At the time of their engagement, Luckett said, “The chemistry was there.” “We began joking and joking about. Just like me, he’s a native of Texas.”
