Big Boi and Sherlita Patton of Outkast divorced after 20 years of marriage.
According to recently filed court paperwork, Big Boi, an OutKast rapper, and Sherlita Patton have divorced after 20 years of marriage.
Big Boi filed for divorce in April, and the final divorce decree was entered last month, according to TMZ. The rapper allegedly stated that there is “no realistic possibility of reconciliation” between the couple in the court paperwork. The documents show they were living separately and had been separated for some time when he filed.

Outkast’s ex-wife Sherlita first filed for divorce from her husband in 2013, alleging their marriage was “irretrievably destroyed.” He responded by requesting shared custody of Cross, then 12, and claiming that Sherlita was able to financially support herself, despite her age.
Big Boi attributed the couple’s reconciliation to “Jesus” at the time of the incident. In 2014, he told TMZ, “A family that prays together stays together.”
A postnuptial agreement was made two years later by Big Boi and Sherlita, dividing their assets and liabilities.
In 2016, Big Boi and Patton created a postnuptial contract that shared all of their assets and debts. They also consented to a settlement that will pay off any debts and a nondisclosure agreement regarding their individual financial situations. They also promised to refrain from making threats of “damage, maltreatment, molestation, harassing, injuring, or abuse” toward one another during the divorce process. Patton and Big Boi have not discussed their divorce in public.
Sherlita Patton actually filed for divorce from Big Boi in 2013 and asked for joint custody of their two children as well as financial assistance. Later, the pair made amends. The rapper thanked God and Jesus for reuniting them in an interview with TMZ.
Sherlita, 49, and Big Boi, 47, were married in March 2002 and have two children: Jordan, 27, and Cross, 21. Big Boi is the father of Jordan and Cross. Bamboo, a 22-year-old kid from a previous relationship, is also his.
