Rebecca Drucker, Ricky Martin’s former manager, is suing him for more than $3 million for breach of contract.
According to legal documents acquired by PEOPLE, Rebecca Drucker, Ricky Martin’s former manager, is suing the “Living La Vida Loca” singer for more than $3 million in unpaid fees.
From 2014 to 2018, Martin, 50, was under Drucker’s management, and again from 2020 to 2022. “My personal and professional life was in tremendous upheaval,” says Drucker, explaining the latter period.
“With Rebecca at his side, Martin made millions of dollars and consequently owes Rebecca large commissions,” the 15-page complaint states, citing “recording contracts,” “tours and sponsorship deals,” and “other professional activities.”
Also included in Drucker’s complaint is that Martin was threatened with a “possibly career-ending allegation” in September 2020.
She asserts that Martin “emerged unhurt and proceeded with his professional rebirth” as a result of her advise.
“Martin created a poisonous work atmosphere by repeatedly mistreating, manipulating, and lying to Rebecca,” says Drucker. “As a direct result of Martin’s actions, Rebecca was forced to leave as his manager in April 2022.”
Her accusation that Martin “threatened” her and was trying to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement to keep quiet about the “abhorrent behavior by Martin that she has both witnessed and undergone” is a new one. According to the docs, Drucker has stated that she “will not be silenced. ”
Complaints include: “The effects of his transgressions were shielded from her for years. Even though she was his manager, Rebecca felt that Martin was one of her closest friends.”
