Early Years:
Patti Cummings and Eric Lynn Cummings welcomed Whitney into the world on September 4, 1982, in Washington, D.C.
When she was five years old, her parents got divorced, and Cummings has admitted in the past that she grew up in a “dysfunctional, alcoholic household.” When Cummings was twelve years old, she moved in with her aunt in Virginia. She later graduated in 2002 from the prestigious St.
Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland. While still in high school, Cummings worked as an intern at WRC-TV, an NBC-owned television news station in Washington. Cummings studied acting at the Studio Theater in Washington, D.C., while still in school.
As a department store model at nearby shopping malls, she began her career in entertainment.
She used her modeling earnings to cover her tuition at the University of Southern California. She acquired a love for comedy and began performing stand-up in numerous bars throughout the Los Angeles region. MTV producers then spotted her and placed her in what would turn out to be her breakthrough role in Ashton Kutcher’s “Punk’d” in 2004.
She starred in the low-budget thriller EMR later that year, which was shown at Cannes. She was having some success as a stand-up comedian in the meantime. She was included in Variety’s 2007 list of the 10 Comics to Watch.

Professional Life
Soon after graduating, Cummings relocated to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. But soon she found her love for humor and started doing stand-up in different bars.
She served as an assistant on Ashton Kutcher’s popular MTV reality series Punk’d in 2004. In 2004, she also made her acting debut in the thriller EMR, which, despite its commercial failure, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
By the beginning of 2005, Whitney was a well-known stand-up comedian, making an estimated $1,000 to $4,000 per month. Although it wasn’t much, it was wonderful for her to be able to support herself financially through her pastime and turn comedy into a legitimate job.

Cummings promoted her book by making an appearance on Conan in 2017. She disclosed that she met Miles Skinner on an online dating service in 2017, and they started dating in 2018.
He works as a brand strategist on a contract basis for a number of well-known firms while also serving as group creative director at the advertising agency VICE Media. On her 36th birthday in 2018, the couple got engaged.
Peter Berg, the filmmaker and producer, and Cummings were romantically together for a whole year in 2012. Peter is 20 years younger than Cummings, and the pair divorced in 2013. She had reportedly dated Kerry Rhodes for a year in 2014 and earlier dated Lenny Kravitz.
