Gary Owens and Barb Randal welcomed Gary Cameron Owen into the world on July 26, 1974, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

With his six siblings, Dallas Edward Randall, Kyle Soto Randall, Kayla Owens, Michelle Truss, Emma Owens, and Ashley Muska, he lived his formative years in an Oxford trailer park.


Despite coming from a large, multigenerational family, he experienced a loving, nurturing upbringing. He made the decision to pursue a career in stand-up comedy in his teenage years.

Career Start-Up

After graduating from Talawanda High School, Owen joined the Navy before concentrating on stand-up comedy. In the early 1990s, he served as a member of the Presidential Honor Guard, slinging guns and carrying flags for dignitaries like Bill Clinton and George Bush.
