On March 27, 1988, Brenda Julietta Song was born in Carmichael, California. She has two younger brothers named Nathan and Timmy and is from a Hmong and Thai household. Her father is a Hmong educator, and her mother is an American-Thai homemaker.
In the age of 5, Song made her modeling debut in advertisements for Little Caesars and Barbie after a modeling school representative spotted her at a mall.
Brenda and her mother relocated to Los Angeles when she was six years old in order to give Song more performing possibilities. Two years later, Brenda’s father and brothers followed them.
Brenda wanted to learn ballet when she was younger, but one of her brothers preferred taekwondo, and their mother didn’t want to transport them to two different locations, so both kids studied taekwondo. Song sobbed through her first lesson, but she eventually graduated with a black belt. Brenda was designated an All-American Scholar when she was a freshman in high school.
Due to her performing profession, she was homeschooled and graduated from high school at the age of 16. At the University of California, Berkeley, Song later double-majored in psychology and business before graduating in 2009.
