When Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley’s Marriage Ended, Why Did That Happen?
Priscilla loved Elvis, but she couldn’t keep up with his demanding schedule.
The singer wouldn’t allow Priscilla to pursue a career or live alone, leaving her feeling extremely alone. As much as Elvis cherished having Priscilla drop everything for him, it was soon too much for her to keep doing.
In her own words, “I didn’t have my adolescent years as a regular girl, obviously, so I had to adjust,” she says on Loose Women.
I basically simply did what he did. She explains, “I mean, you lived his life. You went to the movies he requested. You listened to the music he liked and visited the same places he did. Truthfully, I didn’t have a life of my own. Consequently, I felt like a shell of my former self.
She says, “I did not divorce him because I did not love him.” I had to go out and learn about the world, but he was the love of my life.

When Elvis and Priscilla Presley Divorced, They Remained Close Friends?
She and Elvis remained quite close after their divorce. They even grew closer to one another in love and understanding after the wedding than they had before.
Priscilla “wanted to die” after learning of Elvis’ passing, she says.
She explains in her autobiography that she “locked myself in the bedroom and left instructions that I would not speak to anyone, that I wanted to be alone.” Truthfully, I wished I would have passed away. Love can fool you into thinking the best of someone when the opposite is true.
Although my ex-husband and I were officially separated, Elvis remained a vital part of my life. We had been close friends over the past few years, sharing our stories of failure and learning to laugh at our own foibles.
She goes on to state that they “had a bond:” they were closer and more patient with each other than they had been during their marriage. There was even talk of sometime… It was too late; he was already gone.
