The TV personality first filed for legal separation from Vitale in November 2021, and then for divorce on May 12. Bertinelli stated, in divorce papers acquired by TODAY, that the couple had “irreconcilable disagreements.”

A prenuptial agreement “in full force and effect and entirely binding on the parties” was also mentioned in the divorce documents.

Bertinelli’s lawyers have requested a second hearing to challenge the document’s legality.

They avoided a legal battle by agreeing to settle out of court, thus the terms of their agreement are not public knowledge.

The host of “Valerie’s Home Cooking” and Vitale tied the knot on the first of the new year in 2011. They are childless in their marriage.
