Josh Rosen, What happened to him?

Early Life of American Footballer Josh Rosen

American football quarterback Joshua Ballinger Lippincott Rosen was born on February 10, 1997, and is now a free agent.

In 2015, he was named the Pac-12’s Freshman Offensive Player of the Year and a Freshman All-American while playing college football for the UCLA Bruins.

Rosen established the school record for throwing yards in a single season during his junior year.

Josh Rosen, What happened to him?

The Arizona Cardinals took Rosen with the 10th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and he started for them in his first campaign.

He was moved to the Miami Dolphins the following season and dismissed after one year as a result of his patchy play. Before joining the Browns in 2022, Rosen played as a backup for the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons for the next two seasons.

 Professional Career of Josh Rosen

Rosen, an economics major, registered early so he could participate in spring practice and started studies at UCLA in January 2015.

A sizable hole was left on the squad when Brett Hundley, the three-year starter as quarterback, left early for the NFL. Rosen was UCLA’s top quarterback throughout the spring, and as a true freshman, he continued to contend during summer camp to start for the team.

On August 26, Rosen was named the Bruins’ starting quarterback, one week after receiving harsh criticism from head coach Jim Mora.

He defeated Jerry Neuheisel, who had three years of experience with offensive coach Noel Mazzone’s fast-paced spread scheme, which Rosen used in high school, to the position despite Neuheisel having three years of experience. The freshman referred to Neuheisel’s assistance to him throughout the contest as “selfless.

What happened to him?

When I assessed Josh Rosen, I observed what is frequently referred to as the model NFL quarterback. 6’4″, 226 lbs., with a strong arm. A quarterback who could read defenses and throw the ball correctly caught my eye.

The way the NFL was changing was something I neglected to consider. At UCLA, Rosen was regularly sacked, which resulted in an overall collegiate rushing average of -1.4 yards.

In the pocket or outside of it, Rosen never really came up with plays. He and the play would be in trouble if his offensive line failed to hold up.

The era of quarterbacks similar to Peyton Manning was over. QBs who could pick apart opponents while seated in the pocket.

No, this was the era of the pass-catcher, like Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson. quarterbacks who could run the ball and make plays to set up their powerful arms. In 2018, I missed it. Since then, I’ve tried to modify my lens for scouting quarterbacks.

What 2022 Prospects Could End up Like This?

Carson Strong of Nevada is the 2022 prospect who best resembles Josh Rosen.

They both have quite similar physiques. Strong is a 6’4″, 230-pound man. He has a tremendous arm and is quite accurate, like Rosen.

Unfortunately, Strong has the same kind of gargoyle-like movement that Rosen does. In his time with the Wolfpack, he has only gained a pitiful 1.

2 yards on average when rushing. My fondness for Carson Strong as a passer does not, however, allow me to rank him as highly as I did Josh Rosen.

Georgia’s JT Daniels, a quarterback, has also been mentioned as a possible first-round choice. The Southern California transfer is not a guy I am as excited about, but he still matches Josh Rosen’s profile.
