Maple, everyone’s favorite shield-wielder is back, along with her game-breaking antics, for a second season that will start in January 2023. BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out’s second season was at first set to air in 2022.
As Kadokawa said on September 20, 2022, My Defense will be part of a very busy January 2023 window. The teaser PV and visuals show that after another successful campaign in NewWorld Online, defense goddess Maple and her Maple Tree Guild will soon be off to new adventures.
Will Maple’s silly, overpowered luck keep giving the people who work on NewWorld headaches? Her many fans, both in the online game and outside of it, can only be excited about that.
Bofuri Season 2 Anime Release Date
Even though Kadokawa and Silver Link haven’t said for sure when the second season of Bofuri will air, a start date of January 4 would be a good guess. Season 1 came out on January 8, 2020, which was the first Wednesday that wasn’t a holiday. Silver Link can do the same thing for season 2, which will come out on January 4, 2023.

Bofuri was supposed to come out in the fall of 2022. But it wasn’t clear that the second season was put off until 2023 until the announcement on September 20. After Silver Link didn’t say anything until September, it was thought that a delay or, even worse, a cancellation was likely.
Fans should now be at ease because Silver Link gave them a teaser PV and a teaser visual, which put an end to rumors that the anime was going to end. The official website for the anime even posted news about the second season right after the news about the first season’s rebroadcast.

Bofuri Season 2 Anime Story
Is she the last boss in the game?! The first line of the summary for the first volume of the Bofuri light novel series by Yen Press says everything you need to know about Maple, a character made by VRMMO newbie Kaede Honjou. And Maple is the result of being able to wear plot armor.
At her best friend Sally’s suggestion, Kaede decides to give the new virtual reality game NewWorld Online a try one day. Sally is a pro gamer, which means she always wins and is the best at what she does. But her mother won’t let her play for a few days, so Kaede has to figure things out on her own.
Kaede then makes her character, whom she calls Maple. She chooses a big shield as her weapon because she doesn’t want to get hurt. Any RPG fan would always think about where to put their stats and how to weigh them based on their job classes and other things. Kaede doesn’t do that.
Instead, she puts all of her stat points into VIT to improve her defense. She keeps going until her skin is as thick as the walls of the town. Maple turns into a mobile fortress, even if it is the slowest one, and gets top-quality weapons thanks to Kaede’s super-defense and a bit of good luck (not the stat one).
Her logic in the game doesn’t make sense in the real world, but for some reason, Maple always wins and gets huge boosts as she stumbles her way to the top. Sally joins the game later, and the two of them make new friends and build the Maple Tree guild, which is one of the strongest in New World Online.
At the end of Bofuri Season 1, Maple Tree beats the Congregation of the Holy Swords in a shocking way. Maple is almost killed when Payne of the Holy Swords cuts her down. But since it’s Maple, she only has 1 HP left and can turn the fight around.
Maple changes into a huge demon by using a skill called “Atrocity” from her Black Rose Armor. And it’s just OP on top of OP. Maple beats the other Holy Swords, helping her guild finish in third place.

Season 2 should build on this win, and Maple Tree should be ready for another adventure. The teaser PV and images hint at a long journey, so fans can expect more fights and encounters that will help Maple and her team and make the NewWorld developers cry.

The teaser PV above was one of the most important pieces of news Bofuri fans got in the last few weeks. Fans were getting antsy until they saw Maple go on another adventure. The anime website said that this teaser PV showed Bofuri’s New World characters going on a big adventure in a new world.
People from the top guilds Maple Tree, Kingdom of the Flame Emperor, and Congregation of the Holy Swords were shown in the video. This was shown in a teaser image that came out on October 6, 2022. It showed members of the Maple Tree guild riding on Syrup and flying somewhere. The other two guilds could be seen following them.
