In 2014, Kane Brown started uploading videos of himself singing cover versions of songs by other artists, including Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington, and Alan Jackson. Because of his Facebook video creations, he gained a sizable fan base.
One early video of his, a version of Lee Brice’s “I Don’t Dance,” went viral. In 2014, Brown recorded a six-song EP at the home studio of Noah Henson, guitarist for Brantley Gilbert, with money he raised through the crowdfunding website Kickstarter.
