It has been confirmed that a third season of the Blue Exorcist anime is currently being filmed. Season 3 of Blue Exorcist was confirmed at an anime panel at Jump Festa 2023. The panel also released a brand-new official website alongside the trailer’s fresh visuals.
A-1 Pictures’ Blue Exorcist was a smash hit when it was the first broadcast from April through October of 2011. The first season director was Tensai Okumaru. The film adaptation of Blue Exorcist: The Movie was released in December 2012 in response to the series’ success.
However, following that, the anime’s future was unknown until 2017. The second season of the 12-episode Kyoto Saga was released in 2017. This time around, the same production company was responsible for both seasons. However, the limited runtime of 12 episodes failed to appease those who wanted to see more of the anime.
Blue Exorcist Season 3 Released Date
Unfortunately, the second season has likewise performed poorly on Blu-ray. If the third season of Blue Exorcist is in the works, the official website and Twitter account should be actively promoting the show. The series ultimately failed because of the way the first season was supposed to end.
Thus, the second season premiered a full six years after the first. Patience is not only a virtue but also a quality shared by many devoted followers of Blue Exorcist. There was a long gap of time between Blue Exorcist’s first and second seasons. There was a five-year wait for season two of “Kyoto Saga” after the first season concluded in 2011.
Finally, in 2017, the season premiered. Due to the long time that has passed since the two previous seasons, there is a glimmer of hope that there may be a third season. The timing of the upcoming Blue Exorcist anime episode, set for 2022 or 2023, fits quite well with the overall feel of the series.

Blue Exorcist Season 3 Plot
A mirror connects the worlds of Ao no Exorcist, creating a mirrored cosmos. The first is the realm of men, known as Assiah. Gehenna, the realm of the demons, is the other. It is usually difficult to travel between the two, and it is often difficult to have any form of communication between the two. Demons, on the other hand, can gain access to this world by stealing something from it.
While Satan may be the devil’s god, he’s missing one thing: a strong human vessel to hold him back. Rin Okumura, his son, was designed for this purpose, but will he cooperate or change into something else…? When Father Fujimoto attempted to have Rin murdered so that he could return to the Demon Realm, Rin set out on a mission to become an Exorcist.
Though born Satan’s son, he overcame his inherent weaknesses to become a formidable opponent. There are demons and supernatural elements in the excellent action series The Blue Exorcist. This anime follows Rin Okumura, who plays the lead role. The novel follows the main character, an adolescent named Rin Okumura who seems to be a typical teenager.
He has his life flipped upside down when he learns he is the son of Satan after being attacked by demons. Blue Exorcist, an animated series, has aired for two seasons and roughly 37 episodes thus far. Season 1 aired 25 episodes between April and October of 2011, while Season 2 aired 12 episodes between January and March 2017.
Along with the 2012 film, there are also three OVAs. The events of episodes 18 through 17 of Season 1 were erased because of a plot twist in Season 2. The third season of Blue Exorcist has many viewers wondering whether and when the show will return for further episodes.
