Vinland Saga Season 2 Plot
Thors, an esteemed general of the Jomsvikings, was assassinated by Askeladd, the head of a band of mercenaries, in the first season. His son Thorfinn, who was there at the scene, pledged to exact vengeance on Askeladd by honorable fight. But after spending his formative years with Askeladd and then witnessing his death,
he killed the vengeful Thorfinn within and gave up the fight for survival. According to manga fans, the real saga is just beginning, and the first season serves as a fitting conclusion to Thorfinn’s arc. Known in the manga as Ketil’s Farm Arc, the Slave Arc is the focus of Season 2 of Vinland Saga.
After the first season ends and Askeladd is executed, Thorfinn becomes a slave as punishment for attacking the new king, Canute, for taking away his reason for living. Season 2 will show Thorfinn’s humanity by allowing viewers to feel his pain as a slave rather than just as a killing machine battling for Askeladd.
It’s likely that Thorfinn will undergo some sort of metamorphosis and emerge as a stronger, more determined person. Canute, on the other hand, has the opposite goal, and while he means well by constructing a tranquil world, he may have an adverse effect on the plot.
