When an arrow is shot in archery or Kyudo, the string hits the bow and makes a sound called Tsurune. The show’s premise revolves around protagonist Minato Narumiya, who was inspired to practice Kyudo after hearing the Tsurune as a child. He lost and let down his middle school archery team because of target fright, so he swore he would never shoot again.

The Plot of Tsurune Season 2

Season one ends on a high note with “Irreplaceable,” featuring a dramatic showdown between Minato and Fujiwara, both of whom are desperate to win the game for their respective sides. Seiya, captain of the Kazemi High School club, claims he is now following Minato rather than pursuing him.

Despite their ongoing verbal battles, the two childhood pals make up in the last minutes. Fujiwara’s old instructor Saioji is here, and Minato has joined her to observe her and Fujiwara. The competition begins, and the two main protagonists, Fujiwara and Minato, end up with the highest scores when the climax pits them against each other.

Finally, both archers release their arrows, revealing that Minato has hit all of his targets and Fujiwara has missed four out of four. Despite his victory, Minato learns that Fujiwara had a target panic and missed his shot.

At the end of the episode, Minato declares, “For now, that’s all I need,” as he and the rest of the Kazemi Kyudo club celebrate their victory.

In the final chapter, it was revealed that both Minato and Masaki were present when the former made the decision to study Kyudo. Minato is at the start of his Kyudo journey, while Masaki is experiencing target terror, mirroring Minato’s own experience in his later years.

The second season of Tsurune will continue from where the first one left off, with our intrepid band of archers now in their second year at Kazemi High. New players will be added to the team after their success at nationals last year. Similarly, many freshmen will apply to Kirisaki High in hopes of catching the eye of Fujiwara, and more specifically Kudou Takumi.

There will be a divide between the first years and the management, though, so not everything is rosy. The young archers are about to embark on an exciting new chapter, one that will be full of fierce rivalry and intense feelings as they test their mettle against one another.

Where to watch Season 2?

Unresolved tensions between Seiya and Shu aren’t the only thing that could cause trouble for the fragile calm in the city. The goal is that if tensions occur amongst Minato’s pals, he won’t experience his target terror again.
